Some online deals charge but don’t deliver

Lots of people like to shop online. It's easy and sometimes faster than finding what you want at the local mall. With just a few clicks, your order is processed and your purchase could be on your doorstep the next day. That is, unless you clicked on an ad that was really a scam.

Online ads that offer deals on luxury items at low prices can be part of a scheme to take your money and give you nothing in return. Scammers falsely use well-known name brands in their ads for clothing, shoes, online games, and other expensive items to entice you. Scammers know that people looking for a good deal may be tempted to click on their links. But if you know how to spot online shopping scams, you can avoid losing your money — and more.

If you like to shop online, keep these tip-offs to rip-offs in mind:

  • Anyone can set up an online shop. So before you place an order online, confirm that the shop has a physical address and a phone number where you can reach someone if you have problems with your order.
  • Scammers often offer luxury brands at ridiculously low prices to trick you.
  • Clicking on pop-up ads can download viruses, spyware, malware, and other unwanted software to your computer. It’s best to avoid them.
  • If the seller requires payment through a wire transfer or by you giving them numbers off a gift card or prepaid card, that’s a scam. Legitimate sellers won’t restrict payment to those methods.

Do not buy anything from Lampeez. They took my money and I never received the product

Dont buy from Hoppamania.. I ordered a drone on 12/2/17 and have never received it. company wont answer my emails or refund my money. no company address or phone number. Stay away they are scammers and crooks.

MoviePass.com - thousands, including myself, have paid for a multi-month service that we cannot use. The BBB website is full of pages of complaints from abused customers. Their Facebook page is also full of hundreds and hundreds of angry customers. Hundreds of emails through their site go unanswered, as well as hundreds, if not thousands communications (no exaggeration) from across the U.S. through their Facebook and Twitter are also ignored. Phone calls to their toll-free number (1-855-336-3632) are turned down, saying to call again, that they don't have enough people to answer calls, and their Terms of Service say no refunds will be made. It has been 52 days since my attempt to engage their service after paying for a 6 month subscription. The company address is 175 Varick St, New York, NY 10014 and the CEO is Mitch Lowe. The Co-founders/Co-chairmen are Stacey Spikes and Hamett Watt (source: Bloomberg)

Never buy anything from voyageestore.com. It's a scam. The online store looks quite credible. We bought a saw and paid 118 EUR for it. They let you track your order as if it has been dispatched. When it finally shows that your order has been delivered to your "front door" you start writing e-mails to them informing that you have not received anything. You never get a reply or your money back.

I ordered a set of items, price was 71.50$ and delivery to Moldova 15$, on paid from account was taken 112$ (25.5$ more), and in finally on its site show that it is in Moldova and is sent for delivery, but at the Postal office asked Tracking number that i don't have it, they checked by mobile number and also by Name, and said that nothing .

Don't make any purchases from BICCSHOP ONLINE! They're a complete scam! They took $50 from my checking account and never delivered. I can't get any reply through email, and the phone number they provided is of no use. There's too many numbers for it to be real. I've emailed them for the last three days straight, with no answer. They're thieves.

have you gotten anything yet from biccshop

JOE'S AV www. joesav. com Placed order on Jan 4 for over $3000 in audio visual....after lie after lie....still on March 5 still no av or credit to my credit card. Called to cancel order and they said it was damaged...cant replace. Asked to have cc credited. They said system is down cant do it.....called 5 days later still system is down. They told me If u wanted my money back to call cc company and put in a dispute. So now I have to wait up to 3 months to get money back. How can this company legally still be in business. After more investigations there is so many people they are scamming.

Teechip attached itself to a fake March for Our Lives facebook page to sell their tee-shirts. On their order page the added a count-down timer suggesting that if you ordered by a certain date or within a certain number of hours, you would get the merchandise in time to the March. I then discovered that they take a much longer time. I contacted them for a refund: they refused them. They even asked me to take a screen shot of the page with the timer, which I did. They stopped responding. I am escalating the claim with PayPal.

Do not buy off of a company named Besell. They take your money off of your charge card and never send the product that you have ordered.

I brought a wig from one of the many Facebook Sites that pop up in your newsfeed when you're shopping. I ordered a wig that advertised one thing I received another and when I contacted Paypal for a return I was instructed to send the item back to China at the rate of $30 for an item that cost $29. Now that I check the site and other people are posting the same problem. How do I report these to Facebook?

Add me to the should have known better list for ordering a too good to be true product that took my money, pretended to give tracking information and now says it's undeliverable. Stay away from all online stores with a vip in their name, such as pcvipstore. com. They are Chinese scammers using US addresses and servers. They also use credible https site and accept almost any method of payment. I don't understand why there is no agency that can deal with foreign "criminals" fleecing American customers. Sure, Buyer Beware used to apply and maybe still does, but the choice seems to be stay away from all online purchases as the scammers are all over on Amazon, Facebook and many other "legitimate" businesses.

I bought a pair of shoes 100 dollars on this page and no purchase confirmation or returned emails to mmine ones since...it s been two weeks, what can I do?

If you used your credit card to pay for the shoes, you might be able to dispute the charge. Read about disputing a charge in this FTC article.

Ordered from Ships from Texas.com. Credit card charged immediately, never received order. Foreign transaction fee also showed up on credit card. Reported to credit card company . Contacted Secretary of State for Texas to see if company was listed and of course it was not.

Same as these other two comments: ordered a handbag from Ships From Texas (charge shows Vancouver BC location), credit card charged immediately for the handbag plus foreign transaction fee, also Vancouver. Nobody answers phone—directed to send an email. No answer to repeated emails, and, of course, no handbag.

Ordered from Ships from Texas.com early June. Never received order. I did get a response late June that product was damaged, they would issue a refund. It never came, they do not return messages, and as of today their web site is down. Used Paypal and have filed a claim.

This happened to me, too! How do I file a claim with PayPal?

This is a scam.. once you place order and pay for it, they will start sending you notifications of shipment, dispatch etc. And ultimately will show as delivered but no delivery actually made. Then yu keep contacting support, but everywhere bot support is there and you get same reply to your all questions

Fraud. I ordered a purse from ShipsfromTexas on 7/4 and computer said it would arrive in 5-12 biz days. Never arrived. No one answers phone and you are directed to email. No response; I tried several times. I reported it to Visa. I found them on Facebook. It needs to be removed.

I ordered a tote from Shipsfrom Texason June 11. As of this date August 24 2018 I have not received it. It is # 5203 in the amount of $99.95. Don’t buy this is a scam

Every ad on facebook is a scam

Ordered generator from company called GSI. They advertised and still advertise on Facebook so I thought they were "legitimate". They charged my card a little more than the price, I allowed for shipping charges, that were supposed to be free. Haven't received anything! Beware!

I bought 2 ( North Face) jackets from a facebook ad, $85 it cost, I received an email from support1@ webmicroshop confirming the transaction. They took the money from my credit card, that was back in late July . Haven't got them yet, Im sure I've been scammed?

With so many stores closing their doors, it is going to be interesting how individuals are going to "shop", especially for items that need to be tried on, otherwise we will be paying the shipping cost back to the seller. I suggest not using the Internet for buying anything. Lots of "low life" individuals on this planet who don't want to earn their salary appropriately...thieves!

Have anyone ever purchased any item from Leonis store?

I ordered an engraver from Leonis in February and have not got it yet

Athena Glam.
They're giving away leggings for shipping price only. It was only $7.00 but they respond to no emails and are scamming people EVERYWHERE!! It's been 2 weeks and I still haven't recieved my order. They wont respond to me. Anyone who ordered is complaining of the same issue.
