Are you an SSA or RRB beneficiary with dependent children? Then, you have only until tomorrow at noon to file to get the additional $500 economic stimulus payment for dependents – or else you must wait until you file your 2020 tax return to get the money.

Do these three things apply to you? If so, you need to fill out a non-filer form NOW to get your full Economic Impact Payment.

  • You are a recipient of Social Security Administration (SSA) or Railroad Retirement benefits (RRB)
  • You have a dependent child or children under age 17
  • You have not filed your taxes in 2018 or 2019

You must fill out this form by tomorrow, April 22nd by 12pm Eastern Standard Time, to receive your full payment now. If you miss this deadline, you will only receive the $1200 payment, not the additional $500 per dependent child under 17. Instead, you will need to wait to get the additional payment when you file your 2020 taxes.

We know this is a difficult financial time for many folks, so if this applies to you, we encourage you to act NOW.

Please share this message with friends and family. Share this blog and the IRS alert. We need your help to get the word out about this important deadline.

No this doesn't apply to people who have dependent elderly parents.

This applies to people who:

  • Get Social Security Administration (SSA) or Railroad Retirement benefits (RRB)
  • Have a dependent child or children under age 17
  • Did not file a tax return in 2018 or 2019

We have 2 dependents under 17. We only received the stimulus for 1 child. What do we need to do to have this corrected?

If you get SSA or RRB, you have to file before noon today (April 22) to get the additional $500 economic stimulus payment for dependents – or else you must wait until you file your 2020 tax return to get the money.

This blog tells you how to start.

I've read so many articles about this and still not sure. I have 2 dependent children under 17, receive SSI, and filed 2018 taxes. According to what I've been able to gather, because my wife (she is not on SSI) and I file (so we are not non-filers), I should get the $500 payments for both children without having to do anything else. CORRECT? Also, we don't typically get a tax refund each year (so IRS doesn't have direct deposit for that). However, they do have my bank info for SSI. So will the stimulus payments come to my bank account where I receive SSI or not? (Again, my wife does not receive SSI.) Thank you.
