Who do I call if someone filed my son stimulus check is stolen someone found them on their taxes

My four year old destroyed my stimulus check. He ripped it all apart.. it wasn’t cashed. what can I do in order for me to get another replacement check ?

The get my payment portal told me I would receive my payment on may 13.Well like every one else no payment, and of course you cant talk to anyone at irs. just a recording and no answers...….something is really messed up.IRS PLEASE DO SOMETHING AND ANSWER OUR THOUGHTS...…………...

My son received the letter saying his stimulus was being direct deposited but has not received it. He is on SSDI and I understand the letter comes after the deposit. Get My Payment site says no information how can I check to see what has happened. Thank you

IRS get my payment site says , deposited 0n April 30, in a bank account that is mine , But its 5/21 and nothing. No letter , no deposit , no rep for irs to ask .. NOTHING !!! What to do ?

It says to me it sent my stimulus check on the 29th of april and I still have not got it I get ssi and ssd and I have the direct express card from social security what do I do I called the irs and nothing I'm so upset I have no idea what to do

I sent off my son Stemless check He got his we filled same day I didn’t get mine never got one I o ssi

My mother’s stimulus check was sent to a old address May 2nd. Her new address was on her last income tax return. We don’t know if someone Has cashed it.

Same I dont know if I should file for identity theft cause I got the letter from the old address that it was sent but never received the check on old or new address.

I received my check, but I misplaced it and I am worried that I threw it out by mistake.

I tried calling the IRS but only get the pre-recording messages.

Does anybody know how I can report the check lost and ask for another one to be sent out?

I am not concerned about how long it will take for the new check to arrive, but rather that the lost check is cancelled so as not to be cashed fraudulently; I cannot find anything regarding this online - surely I am not the only one in this situation, and it is the interest of IRS to report lost checks so that they are not cashed!?

Any input would be greatly appreciated :-)

I have not received my stimaliss check and it's been mailed out 24th of April it's been almost a month and I still have not received it I believe someone stole my check

Get My Payment tool asked for updated bank info, I put it in, and 24 hours later it updated saying they were sending the check April 24th. It then updated and said sent on April 24th. But I haven't received payment nor letter at this point. A month later and no answers!

Same here! System stated April 24 is when payment is scheduled to be sent out. As of May 22, nothing, nada!!! They need to set up a toll free number to answer people's inquiries and send these payments out. Enough is enough. There are people who are about to end up homeless in the street and loose the shirt off their back!! HELP!

Same here....get payment dive April 17th said will be mailing check 4/24/20...

I received my notice 1444 on Monday, May 18, with my status online saying my check was mailed on May 1. Like the other comments, there's no resource to turn to. Is my check late? or was it stolen? I've googled every question I can think of. So frustrating!

People who have not received their check like me, call 8009199835, this is the number on your 1044. Now there are agents to answer your questions. First agent will only answer general questions, they will transfer you to the right department. Expect the wait time to be 2 hrs. I hope FTC will highlight my comment to help others.

I have only automated service

I got thru on that number and was on hold for over 90 minutes. Finally got thru and gave my story. Check was to be mailed on May 1 and today is May 27 and still no check. She researched it and says the check was mailed on May 1st but they can't do a refund trace until 6 weeks has passed. So I have to call back after June 5th and go thru it all again. She said they could then do a refund trace which would take about two weeks. I guess it's to see if it was cashed or deposited. Then they could issue another check. But my question is, if it was deposited or cashed by someone else, how do I prove it wasn't me? I have a feeling this isn't going to be easy. I asked if at that time they could direct deposit it instead of mailing and she couldn't say. I don't know why they couldn't do something as simple as a website for people to put in their information if they didn't receive their payment. Seems like that would be much more efficient than tying up phones for 2 hours. Oh well, now we wait.

Same here.. says mailed 4/24 and it’s 5/22 and nothing. Not even the letter !! Just filed a complaint, not sure if it will get to the right place.

My mother had her stimulus check stolen in the mail. After she mailed it for deposit along with other checks. Someone found the envelope on the other side of town. She is 82 and I am trying to help her. Please advise. She reported to local police and filled out some forms with the government but says she has no case number and no reply. Is there anyone she can call and speak to?

I'm in Ohio having the same problem as alot of others I've received the notice 1444 on may 13th which I have to say is junk. It says nothing about reporting a missing check or anything like that. The number on the bottom is also pointless as well. Get my payment says my check was mailed to the address on file on April 24th which is the address the notice went to. I have read lots of stuff saying the notice should say paper check or direct deposit but mine doesn't say either or those it says check/debit. Anyone else get this pointless notice 1444 that says check/debit but still not received their check? I know no one could have stolen the check because my mail never leaves the post office plus I called them and they said the one piece of mail ive gotten is the only thing that's went there which was the notice. I just know this is really getting aggravating. Also if you do finally get through to the actual irs number their pointless as well they told me today they only have info on actual income tax returns not stimilus checks. Any info anyone? There's no way we're all in different states with some of us having mail that doesn't leave the post office and all these checks are stolen there's something else going on here.

Trying to find out why I haven’t got my stimulus check yet ? it’s been over a month and they send me my submission ID and said I was eligible.

What do I do if I had gotten my stimulation check from the mail but I accedintly threw it away in the trash can and now it’s gone

Get my payment says my check was mailed April 24th still haven’t received it or a letter what is the problem?

I'm thrown by your use of the term "Identity Thief". My identity wasn't stolen. Someone walked up to mailbox and took my stimulus check out of it. They may or may not have cashed it. It appears there is no way to know. What do I do now?

I'm on ssi disability, still haven't recieved my stimulus check. I never even got a letter either. Been waiting since April 2020. What do I do or is there anyone to contact.?

We got identity theft after we tried to file for taxes. When we go on the site for where is my stimulus check and input our info it says our info doesn’t match your records. Does that mean that someone stole our stimulus check too ? Can the two situations be connected? We later filed for taxes and added the special form due to the identity theft. Once that goes through will that possibly clear out the problem with the stimulus check or the two are not connected? How can we talk to anyone about it ? There is no real representative to talk to about it by phone and no answers for this type of problem online ?

Mine has been saying my check was scheduled to be mailed on 05/01/2020 i never received it. Now the portal has the same message i had in the beginning 2 months ago. It says I'm eligible for the payment but they do not have info for the direct deposit and if i dont have direct deposit it will be mailed. This is the same messaage i got months ago.

Same I'm so confused

I receive VA benefits and SSI, the 'get my payment' tool says my stimulus check was mailed on april 24th but i have not received it

I reported my stolen stimulus check 2 weeks ago, have not received any correspondence back. If the check was cashed, will FTC or IRS make an effort to catch the thief? What am I supposed to do if I hear nothing in next 2 weeks?

I received a letter stating that your empact payment has arrived on my old address but I didnt receive the check neither on my old or new address. Probably it was delivered to the old address but i only got the letter. The system shows it is scheduled to be mailed on may 1 which was a month ago. Does this letter state that the check was cashed. How do I know if it was stolen and I have to file with identity theft or its just missing. What should I do now?

I got the letter from the white house but haven't received my check on the get my payment it says mail on April 24th and still nothing . Any idea? Am in Brooklyn.

got my letter but not my stimulus check what should I do

Both mine was stolen before ever getting to my locked mailbox. There is no help from anyone. I think it's the mail carriers.

What should the stimulus check recipients do if they never received the check in the mail? The recipients received a letter stating the check was mailed out to them, but never received it. What should the recipient do?

I recently receive a letter from the department of treasury with a letter telling me I’m receiving a debit card or check in the mail. I have yet to receive either or. Is it possible it’s lost in the mail or some one has stolen it? How do I find out and/or report it!

I checked the “Get My Payment” site to find out that my EIP was direct deposited to my bank account on May 6. More than two weeks later I received the White House letter in the mail stating the same. My bank has no record of my deposit two weeks later. Calling the number at the bottom of the letter does no good. Visiting the website does no good. I can’t get a human to find out what the problem is and am extremely frustrated.

I had plumbers in my apartment last week. My check was on my bookshelf. Now it is gone. They claim to know nothing.
What do I do?

If I lost my phone that I had connected to my account is there another way I can login to my account or will I have to make a new account?

Stimulus checks states it was mailed on April 24th. I never received it I have not been able to contact anyone about this matter.

I lost my stimulus check. What should I do?

Recieved my stimulus check via mail and I miss placed it and can not find it. Not sure if I lost it or someone may have found it. How can I report it to have check cancelled and be reissued another stimulus check ?

My stimulus check was mailed May 1,2020 I recurved my letter May 15th but never got a check !!! I can’t talk to anyone I don’t know what to do . I’ve call every number I can but everything is automated HELP

I received my stimulus check. However, long story short I think I threw it away due to a coffee spill incident. I've looked everywhere. I need to know how I go about getting the stimulus check that was mailed to me that I lost, canceled, and issued another one.

I checked my economic payment portal and it said the money was deposited into a bank account, I don’t even have a bank account right now. What can I do?

My mail was forwarded to my new address. However, my post office said that the stimulus checks were taken out of circulation and returned to the Treasury Department. The scanned image showed on the Informed Delivery, but I did not receive the check. My other concern is that someone is opening the mailbox where I live and not closing the door. How do I know if it has been sent back to the Treasury Department or stolen? What steps should I take? Or, should I continue to wait?
