Get ready for NCPW 2021!

March is right around the corner, and you know what that means…it’s almost time for National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW)! This year, NCPW is February 28 – March 6, 2021. So now’s the time to jump into planning.

NCPW is the time of year when government agencies, consumer protection groups, and people like you work together to help others understand their consumer rights and make well-informed decisions about money. Want to join in? Here are some ideas:

  • Help your family, friends and community avoid scams. Order free materials to share in English or Spanish. Order by February 1st to ensure delivery by NCPW.
  • Plan a virtual consumer protection event. Find ideas at ftc.gov/ncpw for how you can get involved.
  • Share resources on COVID-19 scams. From contact tracing scams to vaccine scams, you want to know how to avoid them. Check out ftc.gov/coronavirus/scams for free resources, including one-pagers and social media shareables.
  • Visit ftc.gov/ncpw for even more tips and resources.

We’ll be back next month to tell you more about the virtual events we have planned for NCPW. See you then.

I have a complaint about these offers of a "free" gift ,you just pay the postage(this is the bait) somewhere in the fine print or terms it says you are ordering a product you do not want & probably never heard of,you just have to call & cancel w/in 30 days.Because you did not see the extra fine print,a product shows up & you are charged $100.00 or more & you are stuck.I would be curious to know how much money these outfits make a year off of Seniors or

I will be here waiting for more info. Let me say that I appreciate all the email warnings received from FTC. I gave my niece your email address to notify you of a scam pointed directly at her bank account. I sure hope she follows through. She had Covid-19 and when she recovered and went shopping, she fell on the ice and hurt her back. I am wondering if someone at her doctors office and/or hospital got the info and scammed her. I recently received a letter from my dental office advising that their system had been compromised so I know it can be done to others as well.

I agree with the comment on free gift I fell for this twice I just got a new cc to replace the old number so I was lucky that my cc worked with me
